Father's Day '09

For Father's Day this year, we had the Grandpas over for a Father's Day BBQ - Grandpa Phil & Oma Annie, Poppa Latta & Nana Roxy, and Papa Z all came over for some good company, US Open conversation and, of course, good food! Oh, and lots and lots of baby time! (Seriously, Ryan wouldn't nap more than 30 minutes, even though he was exhausted!). And even better, Poppa Latta & Nana Rox brought Isabella down from Hannibal so we could be with us.

Trey and I are getting pretty good at these family get-togethers. And quite frankly...I Love Them! I mean, I'm pretty sure I come across as completely stressed out the whole time, but secretly, I'm bummed when everyone's gone and the house is quiet again. And, seriously, how knew my hubby was such an awesome chef? =)

Anyway, our menu was....Baby Back Ribs, marinated Italian and BBQ Chicken, German Potato Salad (my first try!), Baked Beans (also my first try!), Sweet Corn on the Cob, Asian Broccoli Coleslaw, Spinach & Baby Greens Salad, plus the usual chips, dips, relish tray...and, a store-bought Key Lime Pie. No, MOPS/Bunco moms, the Mini Fruit Tarts did not make it the menu. Will have to bust those out for the next function!

We really had a great, relaxing time, but unfortunately, the only pic I got was this one....and it's worth sharing....

We're gonna Tear this place UP!

Once upon a time, we put in a call to our fair City Hall, complaining about the street that was slowly busting up in front of our house.  When they said "We'll get to it," Trey took matters into his own hands and filled the holes himself.

All that work was for nothing!  Cuz after just three short years, Saint Pete finally got around to fixing the street in front of our house!  Something tells me, though, that this will be a bit of an inconvenience for a few days.

Good thing I had my listening ears on, because even though I had the garage door open, with minivan in full display, this guy just pulled up, rarin' to go!
I ran outside like a bat outta hell so I could get the van out.  Idiot.
Sean said: "Now my Daddy is going to hafta fix this!"

Sean said:  "This is Crazy!"

Brothers takin' it all in!
Sean said:  "This is Serious!"

Yes, we are getting somewhere!

This guy may, in fact, have a shittier job than I do.
Because it's hot.  It's Africa hot.

And in just three short days, we can use our driveway again!

Amy Writes...next to nothing!

OK, so it's been just a bit crazy around here.  Isabella for two weeks, various viral infections, ear infections, a growth spurt from hell, mini-construction projects, new schedules, family gatherings, and overall exhaustion!

I see that my blogs have had to bear the brunt of the family craziness, and here they have sat...lonely, desolate.  Barren.  So hopefully now that things are calming down (HaHaHaHaHa!), I will try to catch up a bit.  If it goes as planned (which, for the record, it won't), I will try to post a few things per day to catch up on the past month or so.

So in the meantime, here's a couple photos from the past two eats, both centered around my boys eating.

I had no part in this - Sean was so excited to eat a tortilla chip with his toes.

On the move!

Isabella has been with us since Memorial Day....and we have never been so busy!  I still have to post all of our awesome Memorial Day photos!  But first, really, I need to share this with everyone...it really is so very cool for Momma!

This was taken on Saturday, at our friend Amelia's birthday party.  Both boys were a bit...overextended....and Amelia is opening presents in the background.

And this was taken Tuesday - really, I can't believe how big my little guy is getting!

And is there anything cuter than a half-naked baby?
